New energy guide for Broward readers, middle school students

By Marc Freeman May 31, 2012 12:59 PM

Broward County middle schools recently received a new curriculum program about conservation and energy saving programs, arranged by Sun Sentinel’s Newspapers in Education program.

It’s called “ENERGY SENSE – Conservation And Efficiency Start With You,” and it comes in the form of a full-color poster packed with information about electricity, sources of energy, and ideas for students and their families to save energy at home.

The guide, produced in partnership with Broward County Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department and Florida Power & Light Co. will be included in the “Sunpack” distributed to Broward subscribers of this Sunday’s paper.

To assist teachers, the material is linked to state curriculum standards, including writing, math, and science.
