MIAMI—
Miami Heat 2009 second-round draft pick Robert Dozier has signed to play with Cholet Basket. The French League team announced the signing earlier this week.
Dozier, a forward who played collegiately at Memphis, spent last season with PAOK of the Greek League, after spending the previous season with a lower-tier team in Greece. He was an All-League honorable mention selection in Greece this past season.
Dozier, the 60th and final selection of the 2009 NBA Draft, had been working with the Heat staff at AmericanAirlines Arena prior to the July 1 start of the lockout. His contract with Cholet is not believed to include an out clause to allow for an NBA return at the conclusion of the current lockout.
The Heat extended a tender offer to Dozier in June, meaning they will continue to retain his NBA rights.
