In this changing age of social media, Miami Heat owner Micky Arison may have taken a vote of confidence to a new level Wednesday.
In the wake of the Heat’s 105-94 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Arison posted Wednesday on his Twitter account:
“Question; Do u know which Coaches have lead there teams to back to back Finals in the last 25 yrs.”
Granted, while it might not have been a vote of confidence for grammar, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is among those who have guided “their” teams to back-to-back Finals, with the Heat falling in six games in last season’s title series to the Dallas Mavericks.
Arison’s post came hours after Heat forward LeBron James seemed to question Spoelstra playing a tight rotation in Game 1 that had only six Heat players going more than 10 minutes, including 46 minutes for himself, 42 for Dwyane Wade and even 42 for Shane Battier.
Following Tuesday’s loss at Chesapeake Energy Arena, James said, “You know, we know we have to have more production for sure. We’re going to have to have more guys in there to give me and D-Wade a rest. And Shane, Shane played a lot of minutes. But Spo will figure that out.”
As for his vote-of-confidence trivia quiz, Arison followed up with a post of, “Phil Jackson Pat Riley Larry Brown Byron Scott Rudy Tomjanovich Jerry Sloan Chuck Daly Erik Spoelstra.”
